A Look Into Denim Skirts

Denim is a material that was first introduced in the coal mining days. The workers needed a material that could stand up to the harsh working conditions, and it wasn’t long before the blue jeans were introduced. In the 1970′s, denim gave birth to something that would change women’s fashion forever: the denim skirt, much like this factory girl denim skirt which has gone around the fashion circle full swing and is now one of the hottest skirts out there.
Denim skirts have many different variants from the long version to the shorter version. It could come to your knees, it could reach your ankles, or it could very well stop somewhere in the thigh region. There are also a few different designs. For instance some of them might actually be made like a pair of jeans with a button flap in the front. Many are made like an actual skirt with an elastic waistband or a drawstring. The types of denim skirts are nearly unlimited, only leaving a few questions. One such question is what to wear with them.
The great part about denim skirts is that they are not particularly formal. You could probably get away with wearing a simple t-shirt, but many people like to coordinate a bit better. For instance you could wear a tank top or depending on the length of the skirt you could choose to go a bit more elaborate.
For the most part you will only want to go formal if the skirt reaches below your knees, because going formal with anything less would be a bit tacky. On the other side of the coin, going informal with something longer doesn’t look so good either. Formality of course, should be reserved for special occasions, and sometimes you need to think about yourself! The problem with a longer denim skirts is that they don’t show off your shape very well. With a longer length you may wish to wear a top that hits at the hips and hugs your body to balance out the look. This will show off your shape, and if you really want to draw attention you should dress in layers.
When you dress in layers, people have more to look at, and they might just look at you longer! The best thing you can do when wearing a denim skirt is wear a camisole under something with a low neck line or even under button up shirt or sweater that you leave open. The same premise goes for miniskirts and short skirts. If you wear a tank top you could wear a simple sweater over top to give off the impression that your outfit is more complicated than it actually is.
The important thing is to choose something that has confident colors. You don’t want to fade into the background, you want to be out there so people notice you! For instance, pink and black tend to show that you are confident, and people will definitely pay attention to you when you walk by. Make sure that you choose a color that goes with your skin tone however and makes you feel amazing.
With a bit of work and a lot of research you can make the most of that jean skirt! Just keep trying to find colors that go with your skin, hair, and eyes. The most important thing though, is to make yourself look the way you feel inside, no matter how that is.
