Pajama Jeans- Hot or Not?

Posted on 20. Feb, 2011 by denimlover.

The advertisements for pajama jeans are calling these spandex cotton blend pants jeans that are comfortable enough to sleep in. While this may be partially true, they aren’t really jeans, they are more like sweatpants made to look like jeans. They even have a pull tie like sweatpants hidden in the waist band. However, unlike sweatpants pajama jeans don’t sag or wrinkle or at least that is the claim and by all reports this claim seems to true.

While they do seem to nicely solve the problem of wearing jeans for people who like the jean look but, lack the body to really look good in jeans these pajama jeans do have a few drawbacks. First, though they are designed to fit different sizes from 8 to 3X, currently they seem to have only one inseam length which is 31 inches. So extremely tall or short individuals are not going to like the length of these pants. In addition, the fake stitching where the zipper should be, and the style of waist band gives these pants a less than polished look that probably won’t appeal to most people who can still actually fit into their regular jeans.

However, by all reports these jeans are indeed comfortable and certainly far more stylish than wearing a pair of sweats to the grocery store or when taking your kids to the local park. Most surprising of all, reviewers who have actually bought pajama jeans admit to opening the box and being quite disappointed in their looks however, after trying them on they admitted that they were extremely comfortable and that they looked better on the body than in the box.

What this all boils down to is while pajama jeans may not be the hottest fashion trend of 2011 it seems like they will have a following with the crowd who enjoys comfort but, doesn’t like how they look in traditional sweats.

Gap Boyfriend Jeans (Faded Dark Wash)If you’ve ever taken the time to look at your boyfriend’s jeans, you likely recognize that they are tight around his butt and the legs are relaxed. His jeans appear to be loose and comfortable and you want a pair just like them. The problem is that men’s sizes don’t typically work well for women and the cut is off. However, thanks to the Boyfriend Jeans, you can get that great look and feeling, while still shopping women’s clothing sizes.

Celebrities have begun appearing in these baggy jeans and showing women they can look great in this new style. Some of the celebrities spotted in these jeans include Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Beckinsale, and even Rachel Bilson. If the jeans are hot enough for the big names in entertainment, then you should feel comfortable slipping on a pair yourself.

When you are trying on these ladies jeans, know they are mean to fit snug around the waist, just below the belly. They should then run down the length of your leg to just above the ankle and remain loose around it. The style is very casual and should appear to be loose and slightly baggy on your body. While you have these jeans on, you need to note that there are three basic styles that you will be able to select from. To make the look remarkable, include a simple fitted shirt or a sweater- belts are great with this style as well.

The first is a basic jean that is slightly faded. When you look at this jean, it will look like something you picked up out of your boyfriend’s dresser drawer. The faded look will appear as if the jean has been worn several times. It will still be a darker blue color, but not as bright as a new pair of jeans.

Your second option will be a distressed pair of jeans. This will have some scratches in the jean and will be faded. The jeans will appear to be older and normally the fading will be heaviest around the knee area. Similar to the style you see with construction workers.

Your final option is a ripped pair of jeans. These have shredded holes in them and look like an old pair of jeans your boyfriend had lying around. These are for the most casual events and say you are rebellious and fun.

When you look over the options you have, keep in mind that you should match the pair you wear to the events for which you are wearing them. You don’t want to wear the ripped style to a high end event, but for a time when personality needs to shine, you don’t want a simple faded pair. Keep this in mind and pick up one of each style. That way, whatever pops up, you are prepared for i

These delicious denim Jeans are light, sexy and fun to be in. Allow yourself to take a chance and show off your looks in these beautifully casual jeans. They are going to turn most anyone’s head and if you don’t already have one, these Boyfriend Jeans just might snag you a new man.

Gap Denim Leggings (Coated Black Wash)Leggings are back in style for this winter and for many women that is good news as leggings are comfortable, easy to care for and can be used to create a variety of styles. Denim leggings of course are very popular as denim never seems to go out of style. However, there are a few dos and don’ts to wearing denim leggings you might want to consider. Here are a few suggestions that may help you decide if leggings are the right fashion statement for you.

Don’t Wear Leggings If……

You should probably not wear leggings if you are too big or too small. Leggings are extremely tight fitting and not only will show every single bulge on your legs, hips and buttocks but they also make extremely thin legs look even thinner giving a tooth pick look to woman with skinny legs. While leggings can look great on medium size or shapely legs they can make someone with skinny or heavy legs look thinner or heavier.

Don’t Wear Short Shirts With Leggings

The unwritten rule for wearing leggings is that your buttocks should be covered by your shirt. Even if you have a great looking tush, it simply will not look good in just the leggings. If you want to show off your backside then try wearing a close fitting hip length tee with a wide belt. That will make a much classier statement. If you do want to wear a short shirt with leggings then add a mini skirt so that your backside has some covering.

Don’t Wear Dresses That Are Too Long With Leggings

Dresses can look great with denim leggings however the dresses should run about mid thigh. Never wear a dress that is mid knee or below the Knee with leggings as this goes beyond a layered look and simply looks sloppy. If you are looking for a great dress to wear with your denim leggings this winter choose a short sweater dress in your favorite color, this will look casual, sporty and classy all at the same time.

Do Wear Your Leggings With…..

There are a variety of clothing that look good with your denim leggings. You can wear your leggings with long sweaters and tunics, big shirts, short dresses and skirts. Leggings look particularly good with any style dress, skirt or top that falls to just below the buttocks to mid thigh. As for shoes, leggings look great with all kinds of shoes with the exception of tennis shoes.

Wearing delicious denim leggings this winter can be a great way to add a bit of perk to your wardrobe. They are comfortable, easy to care for and provide a sense of style, can range from chic to outrageous. As long as you follow a few simple dos and dont’s of wearing leggings you will find that they give you a unique opportunity to express your sense of style while helping to keep the cold winter winds from freezing your legs.

Hudson Jeans Military Flap Pocket Cargo Jeans : Hudson Jeans WomenThe popularity of denim has remained unfazed for decades; possibly due to the flexibility and the variety offered by this fabric. It can be modeled into any style, design, or garment depending upon your preference.

There are different types of denim, with the recent addition being designer denim. Designer denim is available in many different styles. Items such as denim tops, shoes belts, jackets, pants and even denim skirts are available. These designer denim outfits not only look chic, they also offer comfort that is hard to find in other clothing materials. Denim clothing comes in a variety of sizes and shapes as well, from small to plus sizes and can be worn for most any occasion. It is also possible to embellish denim in a number of ways, some can be found with sequins, embroidery, crystals and patches; for some even rips and tears are the enhancements desired for that smart and fashionable look.

The best part about designer denim is that they last longer and are always in fashion. Dress it down for a casual outfit or jazz it up with some glitter and glitz for a more formal affair. Designer denim jackets give more than just a classy look they also offer a way to keep you warm when there is a slight chill in the air. Whether it is the stone washed faded style, acid washed wrinkled look or the look of sand washed denim, you can choose the fashion style denim that suits your mood and event.

Long lasting, cool, durable and forever in fashion are some of the reasons why people prefer designer denim despite the price tag. Though they seem expensive, they are cheaper in the long run, because you can use them for almost everything!

5 Ways To Keep Your Desinger Denim Looking Great

Posted on 01. Jun, 2010 by denimlover.

Paige Premium Denim Laurel Canyon in SumatraMany people buy denim clothing just because they last and last, and they actually like the fact that their denim jeans, or denim jacket gets older, worn down, and soft- some jeans are actually made for this, but their are many people- myself included that enjoy buying a nice pair of designer jeans that fit and look perfect and I want to do everything I can to keep them looking amazing. So below are a few tips to help you keep your designer denim looking great.

1. Clean Them Carefully. Make sure to wash your new (or old) designer denim in cool water with a small load. Never try and wash more than a few denim items together at once. Denim is a rough material so it is better to wash it in small batches with other clothing items. For a full description on how to wash designer jeans check your labels as well.

2. Be Choosy. So, it’s your nephew’s 5th birthday today and the party is at the Crazy Clown house down the street. Regardless of which hotties might be there, I’d advise against wearing your sexy designer denim gear and go with something super easy to wash, as you are almost guaranteed to get a few spills and stains!

3. Avoid the Rain. I am sure once or twice you have been stuck out in the rain with your denim jeans and noticed how awful it is, right? Well, it can be awful for your denim as well! When you wear wet denim it is stiff and uncomfortable and you have to twist and move around more than normal just to walk. This will stretch your jeans out in places that you might not want there to be stretch and it could possibly ruin your jeans. So, be careful when in the rain and if you do get them wet, take them off to hang dry as soon as you can.

4. Store Your Denim Neatly. Its best to keep denim off the rack so to speak. Avoid coat hangers and clips that will leave unwanted marks and creases on your clothes. It is best to store them just as you see in the shops- fold one leg over the other so the that the zipper or buttons are inside the fold, then fold them in half lengthwise, then again. Alternate the direction of the fold makes for an even stack.

5. Don’t Share.
You just bought an amazing pair of Paige Premium Jeans and your roommate wants to borrow them… well, now you can tell her no and give her a reason why. When you wear a pair of designer jeans they mold to your body. They adjust to your curves, crease perfectly where your knees are, and the material will stretch to greet each area that might need a bit more support. Your jeans will become molded to your body shape and fit you like a glove, but when you allow someone else to wear your jeans, they lose that molded shape and sometimes never regain that perfect fit ever again. This also stands to reason with denim dresses, denim vests, and the likes.
