Pajama Jeans- Hot or Not?

The advertisements for pajama jeans are calling these spandex cotton blend pants jeans that are comfortable enough to sleep in. While this may be partially true, they aren’t really jeans, they are more like sweatpants made to look like jeans. They even have a pull tie like sweatpants hidden in the waist band. However, unlike sweatpants pajama jeans don’t sag or wrinkle or at least that is the claim and by all reports this claim seems to true.

While they do seem to nicely solve the problem of wearing jeans for people who like the jean look but, lack the body to really look good in jeans these pajama jeans do have a few drawbacks. First, though they are designed to fit different sizes from 8 to 3X, currently they seem to have only one inseam length which is 31 inches. So extremely tall or short individuals are not going to like the length of these pants. In addition, the fake stitching where the zipper should be, and the style of waist band gives these pants a less than polished look that probably won’t appeal to most people who can still actually fit into their regular jeans.

However, by all reports these jeans are indeed comfortable and certainly far more stylish than wearing a pair of sweats to the grocery store or when taking your kids to the local park. Most surprising of all, reviewers who have actually bought pajama jeans admit to opening the box and being quite disappointed in their looks however, after trying them on they admitted that they were extremely comfortable and that they looked better on the body than in the box.

What this all boils down to is while pajama jeans may not be the hottest fashion trend of 2011 it seems like they will have a following with the crowd who enjoys comfort but, doesn’t like how they look in traditional sweats.
